International Women's Day (March 8) is a global day dedicated to celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. Today also marks a call to action for accelerating women's equality. Sectors such as the tech world that feeds into our need as humans for instant fulfilment. Smart, savvy, and innovative women, in particular, have made this transition. Technology has always been a male dominated industry, but as digital technologies advances women are playing a vital part in shaping the future of tech and life as we know it. According to a source in 2022 women only held about 25% of the leadership positions in tech and only 14% of the software engineering positions.

With so many great female leaders and entrepreneurs we have picked three to highlight on this special day, beauty brand Skin Story based in Dubai, Dauphinette - Fashion brand From New York and Pact venture capital based in London.
The beauty Industry is constantly changing, and never more so than now. With technology advancing the industry on- and offline at an unprecedented pace, alongside the troubling economic, environmental and political times we find ourselves in. Therefore finding the right products is crucial not just for our skin, but also for our bank accounts.

Let's start with Dubai based beauty brand Skin Story. founded by sisters Nidhi Sethi and Rashi Sethi, created for women who love to wear make-up with the aim to allow women to explore and enjoy versatile makeup products.

Skin Story products are vegan, fragrance-free, eco-friendly and sustainable, embracing a philosophy of premium, clean makeup that's accessible to all. Next on our list is New York based Designer Olivia Cheng, founder of Dauphinette. Her work features one-of-a-kind, made from recycled and byproduct fur and leather, vintage, and artisanal components.

Cheng began her brand in 2018, when she was still studying at New York University. according to a source Dauphinette is known as the “Happiest Brand on Earth”. The brand has fun and dreamy vibes with pieces almost too precious to wear. The below bags are created by putting real fruits, vegetables, and flowers into resin.

Women have been breaking barriers and overcoming challenges to create innovative and successful businesses. Research suggest that businesses founded by women deliver higher revenue. Let us introduce you to Pact, founded by three females Tong Gu, Reem Mobassaleh Wyndham and Monik Pham in London. The female owned business is backed by actress Anne Hathaway and Jeff Dean, head of AI at Google, among others.

Pact provides access to products and services, advancing personal and professional wellbeing, and solutions for a more sustainable planet. Women entrepreneurs are driving innovation forward, as the world celebrates International Women's Day, it is essential to reflect on the significant contributions of women to the startup ecosystem.
